Alto flute in G
This instrument is associated with the 7th Cheshire Regiment Corps of Drums. It is a side-blown flute made in three sections: silver-plated curved head, rosewood body and foot joints. It has eight silver-plated keys with modern-style cups, mounted in posts with rods, with flat and needle steel springs, and with cork paddings. Closed keys for 3rd and 6th fingerholes. Silver-plated ferrules. The embouchure lip plate is made of wood, in sleeve form, and lined with metal, having a circular embouchure hole. Nominal pitch: G.
