Military bass drum
This instrument is associated with the Royal South Gloucester Light Infantry. It is a military bass drum with emblazoned wooden shell, wooden counterhoops, 28-inch skin heads (one missing), and rope-tensioned with British style white leather braces (round edge, white, with vellum lace). The counterhoops have twelve drilled holes through which the tensioning rope passes. The shell has a brass tack pattern and a brass carry ring.
