Transverse flute in B-flat

This instrument corresponds in detail to the one mentioned in the catalogue of musical instruments in the Royal Military Exhibition held in London in 1890 (28 section 44). It is considered to be among the oldest transversal flutes in existence. It is a keyless side-blown flute built in the manner of the old Renaissance flutes. The body is made in a single section of stained wood and has six fingerholes. The embouchure hole is circular and there is a cork stopper. Nominal pitch: B-flat.
