Piccolo

Side-blown piccolo flute made of cocus wood, in two sections (head and body), with nickel-silver ferrule and keywork. It has thirteen closed keys with cylinder-cups, mounted in posts with rods affixed to plates, with needle and flat springs, and cork paddings. The head is lined with metal and has an oval embouchure hole. Radcliff's key system. Nominal pitch: C.
