Serpent. Wood covered with black leather, brass upper bend, brass stays to three upper bends. Thirteen brass keys, six being open-standing keys replacing the finger holes. Inscribed German silver ferrule at crook-socket and German silver reinforcement of upper bend. Crenellated bell mount. Red bell interior. Ivory mouthpiece is original. Stamped: T. Key 20 Charing Cross, London (marked: New Improved).
