Side drum
English side drum, early 19th century. Snare partly broken, top skin damaged and repaired 1978. Said to have been used in the Battle of Waterloo. Wooden top and bottom bands are painted red. Cord sides with leather connectors. Studs in one side. In Account book SNO.MISC.972 Mr Wade refers to a 'Waterloo Side Drum Used by Coldstream Guards' that he purchased from 'Dee Millard' for £4 4s. (page 39)
