Cornet
Cornet. Brass with silver plating on valve caps and tuning slide stay. Three Périnet straight-through valves, top sprung with lateral stopping screws on left side. Little finger hook on bell stem. Shank missing. Engravings on body including valve casings and valve loops. A battle scene is engraved around the entire perimeter of the bell, with an English flag & crown as part of the illustration. A wreath design within the engraving accommodates the stamped inscription: 501/31 CRANBOURN ST./H.DISTIN/MAKER/LEICESTER SQUARE/LONDON
