English flageolet with alternative headjoint for use as transverse flute. Boxwood body, silver-coloured metal keywork, ivory mouthpiece, ferrules and end caps. Four joints. String lapped tenons. Four block mounted keys with square flat flaps and leather pads. Six tone holes. Flageolet head joint stamped: BAINBRIDGE/INVENTOR/35/HOLBORN/HILL/LONDON/PATENT; with lion and unicorn motif above. Flute head joint stamped: BAINBRIDGE/LONDON; Upper joint stamped: BAINBRIDGE/35/HOLBORN/HILL/LONDON; Lower joint and foot joint stamped: BAINBRIDGE
