Frame drum; bendir
A bendir (frame drum). The circular shell is painted a turquoise colour with incised decoration in a herringbone pattern on the interior. The shell shows signs of wear where the instrument was held. Hide head glued to shell, with a small repair made by Philip Thornton. The two snares on the inside of the head are broken, but lengths of the strings remain.
