Serpent
Serpent. Wood with black leather covering. Six finger holes with raised ivory bushes. Brass bell garland and crook receiver, both of simple design. A brass plate is nailed around the rim of the crook receiver and continues down to the adjacent branch, to which it is screwed. Branches are angled inwards so as to almost meet, and are connected at two points with short metal leather-covered braces. Two large metal plates are attached to the body beneath the wood on either side of the lower three tone holes. Mouthpiece not original.
