Suling; duct flute

Suling, end-blown flute with external duct. The bamboo has a single node, which closes the proximal end.A strip of bark wrapped around the upper rim is tied at the front with a pink cord. A square hole is cut in the back of the upper rim, forming a duct, with the bark strip as an external wall, and a mouth beneath it. Six round fingerholes are burnt into the front face. Three decorative bands are burnt into the wood between the third and fourth fingerholes. There are also two fan-shaped decorative motifs burnt into the wood on the front face above and below the fingerholes.
