Bendir
Bendir, single membrane frame drum. The frame is constructed from two narrow strips of wood formed into closely fitting concentric circles. A thumbhole, roughly rectangular in shape, is cut into the frame where the ends are joined. The hide membrane is glued and stitched into position with two rows of thread, which pass through small holes in the frame. Two snares run across the inner surface of the membrane and are secured by small dowels. They pass through the frame and membrane close to the rim.
