Panpipes; siku
Chuli siku, panpipes. Two rows of bamboo pipes of graduated length and diameter. Each row consists of eight pipes. Each pipe in the row closest to the player is stopped at the distal end by a node. All but the smallest of the pipes in the farther row are open at the distal end. The stopped pipes produce single notes, while the open pipes create harmonic effects above. The pipes are bound together with a strip of bamboo bark. It is wrapped around the outside three times and is secured by lengths of white and purple cord, which passes between the pipes and around the bark strip.
