Crotal

Pellet bell, the bronze body cast in an irregular octagonal shape, on four feet. There are eight rectangular panels on the sides, the largest two contain a Japanese character. The top of the body is stepped and is surmounted by an integral loop that is attached to a hollow, hinged brass handle engraved with floral designs. A spherical pellet is enclosed in the body.
