Ningxiang Shiguzhai Large Nao (Bronze nao with tiger pattern)
Well preserved. It has a short tubular rod named yong (handle), which has a raised collar called xuan. The underside (wu) is flat and the two xian points are straight. The instrument has a wide body. The mouth (yu) is curved. The colour is blueish brown. The main design on the body of the instrument is animal-mask motif. The rest of the decorations are similar to other large nao bells with animal-mask motif described above. The differences are: the animal-mask in the centre of the gu has a wider nose bridge; the tigers on the sides of the gu have open mouths and curling tails; and the animal-mask designs on the xuan have been simplified.
