Zhong with Panchi Motif (Bronze bell)

Well preserved. Made of bronze. There is rust and corrosion on the surface, which is grey-green in colour. The body of the bell is shaped like a combined pair of tiles. The two xian points are pointing inwards. The upper surface (wu) is flat and has a suspension loop (niu), which is flat. The sides of the body are slightly arc-shaped. There are a total of 36 studs on the surface of the body. The mouth (yu) is curved. There are two wedge-shaped sound ridges (length: 3.6cm, width: 1.8cm) inside the body of the bell; they are located on the left and right sides of the gu. The yu has inner lips and it contains chiselled marks left due to tuning. The upper surface, the areas (zhuan) between the studs and the gu are all decorated with panchi patterns.
