Bianzhong with Braided Pattern (Bronze bell with studs)

Well preserved. Made of bronze, with brownish green colour on the surface. This instrument features the common characteristics of a bronze bell with a three-column stud design. The body of the bell is flat and slim, and shaped like a combined pair of tiles. The mouth (yu) is slightly curved and has inner lips. The tubular handle (yong) is connected to the inside of the bell. The bottom rim folds inward and is of triangular shape. There is a raised collar with cord patterns cast near top of the handle. There are 36 spiral studs on the body of the bell. The areas (zhuan) between the studs are decorated with braided patterns.
