Jiuxiao Huanpei Qin (Jiuxiao Huanpei (a seven-stringed zither-like instrument))

The top surface is made of platane wood and the bottom surface is made of Chinese fir wood. The cap corner (guanjue), bridge (yueshan) and dew-receptor (chenglu) are made of redwood. They are not painted with lacquer. The qin does not have any tuning pegs and one of the peg protectors is broken. It has redwood goose feet and mother-of-pearl inlays (the colours of which have faded). It does not have any cracks (duanwen) and has a chestnut reddish black colour. The body of the qin has sound retainers that are rectangular and there are no inscriptions on the belly of the qin.
