Likembe
A type of lamellaphone characterised by the cut-out under one end of the resonator, the metal rings on the lamellae that give the notes a buzzing sound and two small sound holes; it is played in the same way as the mbira. In this example the wooden strip that closed the resonator once it had been carved is missing.
