Basset horn

Dark red-brown stained wood; nickel silver bell, mounts and keywork: the whole instrument now straight: 18 keys with cupped covers, all except the brille (seemingly a later addition) mounted in turned blocks; 4 basset keys for R Th: the barrel, mouthpiece and cap by G. Howarth & Sons c. 1938: in fitted case.
