Descant recorder

The plastic recorder first appeared in the late 1930s as a cheap instrument for school and amateur use. The plastic recorder could be said to be seminal in the revival of the recorder in the twentieth century and many people—now adults—would have been introduced to the recorder in primary school playing on this type of instrument. Dolonite has been now replaced by lighter, unbreakable plastics.
