Music box
Music box. An English music box with rosewood case, the top inlaid with a floral trophy of tambourine, trumpet, horn and scrolled musical score, and with ebonised moulded edge; the front inlaid with shaped scrolled lozenge. The interior stained red and fitted with a glazed hinged interior lid above the brass and steel mechanism with 33cm barrel playing twelve airs, on six engraved bells. A colour-printed and handwritten list of airs affixed with studs to the interior of the lid reads "Douze Airs Timbres / No. 1 Blue bells of Scotland / " 2 Robin Adaire / " 3 Auld Lang Syne / " 4 St. Patrick / " 5 The Campbells are Coming / " 6 Bonnie Dundee / " 7 Within a mile of Edinburgh / " 8 The Last rose of summer / " 9 Ye banks and Braes / " 10 The Minstrel Boy / " 11 Roys Wife of Aldiwalloch / " 12 Coming thro the rye".
