Technical description: Rosewood with german silver keys. Sockets and reed well lined with german silver. Simple octave keys. The L2 ring and the L1 pierced-plate are connected to a hole between L1 and L2 which is closed by either or both of these touches; this enables a forked C to be played (with just L2 plus some right hand fingers to 'focus' the tone) while still keeping the open C♯ in tune.
