Dulcimer.
Technical description: Oblong box. Ends of solid mahogany 22.5 thick. Sides of mahogany, stopped dovetail joints between the sides and the ends. The soundboard and baseboard of 3-ply plywood faced with mahogany, 3.2 thick. Two circular sound-holes diameter 32. Overspun strings over an iron or steel core. Hitchpins are screws which need to be removed to get the strings off should any need replacing. Square headed tuning-pins. Six plugged tuning-pin holes. Bridges of wood, with guitar fretwire on the crest. Eight strings.
