Treble violin (British nomenclature, sopranino violin).
Technical description: Soundboard of spruce; ribs, back, neck and head of maple; fingerboard, tailpiece, tail-gut protector of ebony; pegs and endpin of rosewood. Medium grained soundboard, arch 14.5mm. Orange varnish. Dyed pear/poplar/dyed pear purfling. The ribs have holes drilled in them at each of the bouts. Very fine figure on the two piece back, figure rising from the edges to the centre. Back arch 14mm. Plugged hole on the back at the top, offset from the centre line. Unvarnished neck, 84 long. Fingerboard 184 long, 23.9 wide at nut, 35.7m wide at bottom. The head has been grafted onto the neck.
