Three cross-keys regulated by cork buffers glued to recesses in the body.Lower section: cross key for B♮₃/F♯₅ also opened by a side lever. Hinge-key partly sunk into body, its travel limited by a guide below the tone-hole; Thumb-rest ivory, almost rudimentary. Bell widely flared, with integral wood rim. 12 keys plus 3 duplicate levers, on axle-pins with hooked ends, heads riveted to shanks except on the four side keys of the upper section; Leaf springs.
