Technical description: stained boxwood, brass keys, ivory ferrules. Shares barrel and mouthpiece with (4064). Five pieces. Mouthpiece, barrel, upper section for all fingers except R4, lower section with keys, bell.German style mouthpiece of ebonite with grooved for cord; probably not original.Long slightly bi-conical barrel with two ivory ferrules.Upper and 'middle' section in one piece. Three key rings of rectangular section. ThroatA-ring recessed to fit the speaker touchpiece. Speaker liner projects almost to the middle of bore. Small metal tube in the tone-hole for L0 to prevent the water from dripping out. Side trill key for throatA-B♮ crosses side key for F₄/C₆. Spectacles with countersunk tone-holes which correspond with an intonation-key to replace the B♮₃/F♯₅ key. Mounted with pillars. Integral thumbrest.Lower section: levers for L4, tone-hole and key for R4 mounted in a fusiform swelling.Bell discontinuous; ivory ferrule on top, wooden integral rim. L0: T; speaker. Keyhead type: shallow cups Repair History: Long crack in the barrel, filled; crack of 22mm above the hole for E♭₄/B♭₅; traces of repair at the thumb-hole, tube perhaps a later addition; cracks in the surrounding of the speaker had been strengthened with pins; crack of 45mm ending at the block for F₄/C₆ lever. Small crack with traces of glue under the third ring. Different colours of pads (red and white) indicates that they had been replaced. Lower section: wood chipped around the F♯₃/C♯₅ lever, strengthened with three brass screws. Four long cracks in the bell nailed with pins.
