Clavichord

This instrument belonged to the avant-garde Catalan composer Robert Gerhard. Originally a square piano, it was converted, during the composer's lifetime, to a clavichord. Compass: Originally C1–c4. After conversion F1–f3. 3-Octave span 483. Stringing: Bichord throughout. Action: Originally John Geib's escapement action.
