Technical description: rosewood; 3 sections, plus additional (piccolo) head; german silver keys and ferrules; tuning-slide (in both heads); 6 finger-holes, no thumb-hole; flageolet head has wind-cap and mother-of-pearl mouthpiece; piccolo head has oval embouchure-hole.; Nominal pitch: D (six-finger tonic).; Type or system: 6 keys.; Keyhead type: shallow cup.; Keymount type: rod/pillar, with leaf springs.; L0: @I{B♭. L1: @I{T.L2: @I{T.L3: @I{T.L4: @I{G♯; long F.R1: @I{T; C.R2: @I{T.R3: @I{T; cross F.R4: R4: @I{D♯.; Usable pitch: sounding A₄ c|452|Hz as flageolet or c|464|Hz as piccolo (or could possibly be used as an E♭ piccolo in D♭ at c|438|Hz).; Performance characteristics: based on a scale of D (six-finger tonic); lowest six-finger note sounds D₅; plays with a much stronger sound as a piccolo than as a flageolet; when used as the latter the tuning-slide is loose and it is difficult to create an airspeed high enough to play above F♯₅ (sounding F♯₆).
