Technical description: cocus; 2 sections; silver key; 3 wide, grooved silver ferrules; no cap; large, slightly oval embouchure-hole; pronounced swelling around the embouchure-hole.; Nominal pitch: A♭.; Type or system: 1 key.; Keyhead type: saltspoon.; Keymount type: ring.; Usable pitch: sounding A₄ c|453|Hz in low register and c|426|Hz in middle register.; Performance characteristics: [original range D₄|-|G₆ (sounding B♭₄|-|E♭₇)]; in present condition speaks with difficulty below E₄ (sounding C₅) and above B₅ (sounding G₆); middle register is much flatter than low register and continues getting flatter into high register, probably due to the position of the cork.
