Symphonion
This is a music box, made of dark stained wood, which uses interchangeable perforated metal discs to determine the tune. A letter on the right side of the instrument controls the engaging and disengaging of the mechanism. A card on the lid of the instrument is inscribed “SYMPHONION. Patented in all states. Music box with steel tongues and interchangeable steel music discs, playing any number of tunes on the same instrument” in English, French, and German.
