Ananda lahan

Plucked drum, known as " ananda lahan" or " the lightning of delight" . Comprises a wooden barrel-drum with W-bracing, and membranes lapped on by hoops, with metal rings as a tuning mechanism. One head cut away, so that what remains serves only as a basis for applying tension, via bracing, to the remaining membrane. A loop of nylon is passed through the membrane (with a wooden stop to prevent tearing), extending out of the cavity of the drum and passing through the membrane of a small kettle-drum. The former is gripped in pit of shoulder, with left hand holding the latter, so that nylon is taut, and the string is then plucked. Labelled " Mandan Musical Mart" .
