Box-shaped drone instrument. Part of the " Cinnamalem" temple dance orchestra. One side opens like a bellows to produce the note; pitch can be adjusted by loosening or tightening circular knobs at the top which alter the flow of air. In the past, another kind of bagpipe drone was used, called " Sruti upanga" or " Tutti" , but it has been displaced by this kind.
