Basset horn in F

Single-reed, angled clarinet made of boxwood in six sections (barrel, upper, middle and lower joints, lower straight barrel, and bell), with ivory ferrules and knee joint, and brass keywork. Seventeenth keys (one doubling) with flat, round-covers, mounted in blocks and rings, with flat springs attached to keys. C4-sharp/G5-sharp key mounted on ivory knee in posts with rod. Cross E4-flat/B5-flat key mounted in brass saddle. Side straight key for F4/C5. Straight throat A-flat key. Dark hardwood mouthpiece with thread ligature. Nominal pitch: F.
