Transverse flute in C

Side-blown, rosewood flute made in five sections (head, barrel, upper and middle joints, and foot joint), with wooden cap and nickel-silver ferrules. Eight nickel-silver keys mounted in blocks. The keys have saltspoon-cups, with the exception of the low C and C-sharp keys, which are pewter-plug. The latter keys also have overlapping touches. Flat springs attached to keys. Round embouchure hole and larger 2nd, 4th and 5th fingerholes. Nominal pitch: C. This instrument is part of the Albert C. Spencer collection.
