Clarinet in B-flat
Clarinet made of brass in three sections (barrel, top and bottom body joints). Integral bell soldered to the body joint. Barrel and body joints have a ferrule with a tightening screw. Thirteen saltspoon-cup, brass keys mounted in posts with rods, affixed on plates. Raised fingerholes. Straight throat A-flat key. Cross key for C4-sharp/G5-sharp over tenon/socket joint, whose nickel-silver shaft/touch was a later replacement/repair. Brille key at lower joint. Flat and needle springs attached to keys. Hard rubber mouthpiece. Nominal pitch: B-flat. This instrument is part of the Albert C. Spencer collection.
