Tenor sarrusophone
Double-reed metal tenor sarrusophone, made entirely of brass. U-shaped configuration with detachable, nickel-silver crook. Seventeen keys with modern-style cups, mounted in posts with rods, affixed on plates. Large brass knob on lower bow guard. Bell seam with tabs. Missing key replaced with another by Mr. D. Lofthouse, Boosey & Hawkes, London, Dec. 1979. Nominal pitch: B flat. Montagu (1967), and A. Bourne (1979), suggest this is an alto. This instrument is part of the Albert C. Spencer collection.
