Clarinet in B-flat
This instrument was formerly played in Chrishall Church by William Cranwell. It is a clarinet made of boxwood, in five sections (barrel, upper, middle and lower joints, and bell), with ivory ferrules and brass keywork. It has six flat, square-cover keys mounted in knobs and lower stock bulge, with flat springs attached to keys. The mouthpiece is made of dark wood with grooves, and has a brass plate on mouthpiece tip (not original; probable repair). The tenon joints are wrapped with thread. Nominal pitch: B-flat.
