Ngoma
This instrument was collected in the field by Christopher and Diana Powell-Cotton. It is a cylindro-conical shaped wooden drum with haired animal skin membranes attached onto the whole body with twisted hide lacing, usually from the same skin. In these drums, only the top large membrane is played. The same hide lacing was used to create two handle loops and a small strap.
