Normaphon
The Normaphon is a hybrid instrument that combines a trumpet body with a saxophone shape. It was invented in the early 20th century by Richard Oskar Heber (1872-1938) from Markneukirchen, when the saxophone and jazz music were very popular. This particular example is made of nickel/chrome-plated brass with some solid nickel-silver mechanisms, and has three top-action rotary valves with mechanical linkages, coiled springs, and cork bumpers. Nominal pitch: B-flat.
