Cornet
This instrument is associated with Bandsman H. Wheeler from the 5th Battalion of the Queen's Own Royal, West Kent Regiment, Chatham. It is a cornet made of silver-plated brass, having three bottom-sprung piston valves, with metal pin guides, and green felt bumpers. There is a water-key on the leadpipe bow. The instrument is accompanied by two extra straight tuning bits, and a lyre stand. Nominal pitch: B-flat.
