Oboe
Oboe. Nominal pitch: C. Stained boxwood, silver keys, four ivory ferrules at reed well, sockets and bell. Three joints. A straight-topped model without the customary baluster finial.The two keys with flat, octagonal flaps, are mounted in turned rings. Lowest key in fishtail shape. Double hole for the left hand third finger (G/G sharp). There are two vent holes at the top of the bell. Stamped: 'G.C. PAYNE/LONDON' within a scroll on all joints.
