Bin
Rudra vina or bin, stick zither. The tubular wooden string bearer has two large gourd resonators attached to it. The string bearer is painted with a floral pattern in gold on a red ground, and has a brass cap at the top end. The gourds are painted with floral designs in gold on a dark green ground. At the top of the string bearer is a set of five opposed lateral pegs for the metal strings, two on the player's right and three on the left, with painted bulbous tops. These pass through the string bearer above the upper gourd. Two other pegs for the two tonic drone or cikari strings pass into the string bearer on the player's right between the gourds, one below the level of the nut and the lowest below the level of the tenth fret. Four of the strings pass over the raised nut and ninteen fixed frets, while the two cikari strings and the lowest string on the player's left run along the sides of the string bearer. Beneath a large brass ferrule at the distal end is a bridge piece carved in the shape of a peacock. It is topped with an ivory plate and has three pin stringholders.
