Battalia dulcimer of truncated wooden shape. There are now only three of the four feet and a few strings remain. It is in a distressed condition. Maker's label reads 'Antonio Batalia of Milan' and an eighteenth century date but stamped on the body twice is '1879'. This dulcimer was previously associated with the inventory number SNO.MSS.667. In very distressed condition.
