Transverse flute

Transverse flute. Left-handed model. African blackwood (grenadilla). Four joints. Nickel silver-plated keys and ferrules. Originally with five keys, one of which is missing. Keys are block mounted with saltspoon cups and leather pads. String lapped tenons. Head joint is open and has integrated barrel. All joints stamped: G. FRENCH/LONDON; A crown emblem appears above the inscriptions on the top three joints.
