Bassoon. Stained pearwood with brass keys, ferrules, end cap and crook. Nine keys, mounted on long base saddles with flat, circular flaps. Key-plates of the closed keys soldered levers. String lapped tenons. Sling hook on butt joint ferrule. Bell stamped: BILTON/LONDON; Long joint and butt joint stamped: 1/BILTON/LONDON; An emblem of a unicorn's head appears beneath each inscription.
