Bassoon
Bassoon. Maple with brass keys and ferrules and end cap. Eight keys, saddle mounted with octagonal flat flaps and leather pads. F key engages with a white metal rod through butt, adjustable at one end by knurled nut. Wing joint missing. String lapped tenons. End of butt joint plugged with cork. Sling hook attached to butt joint ferrule. Paper label adhered to bell has in D.J. Blaikley's hand: 92 BASSOON/MAPLEWOOD/12 BRASS KEYS/PROBABLY 19C.
