Transverse flute
Transverse flute. African blackwood (grenadilla). Five joints. Silver-plated keys and ferrules and silver end cap. Eight keys, block mounted with saltspoon cups and stuffed leather pads. String lapped tenons. Barrel is decorated with turned grooves and all ferrules are embossed with repeating pattern. Head joint is stamped: IMPROVED; Upper joint stamped: 547/CLEMENTI & Co./LONDON/C. NICHOLSON'S/IMPROVED; Foot joint stamped: CLEMENTI & Co.
