Cymbals; tala
Tala. A pair of small brass cymbals, each with a hole in the dome or boss for the attachment of a length of jute string. The string is grasped by the thumb, index and middle fingers. The player can produce three different types of sound from the cymbals when they are clashed together, one in each hand.
