Cornet. Brass with silver plating. Three Périnet valves, top sprung. Socket for music card holder on third valve loop. Unusual forward-pointing main tuning slide, with water key. Shank missing. Bell stamped: TRADE MARK/DISTIN/patent Light Valve/BOOSEY & Co./MAKERS/295 REGENT STT/LONDON/16912/The Property of the/MECHANICS INSTITUTE & CLUB/BASINGSTOKE; Historic trumpet emblem also appears as part of this inscription. Stamped on second valve reads: TRADE MARK/DISTIN/18767; Valve casings stampeed 13, 14, 15 respectively. The letter E is stamped on the first valve slide.
